Here's a couple of spells from 2nd edition I've been including in my games without having written them up.... everyone knows contingency, but these will be most familiar to people who've played Baldur's Gate.

Lesser Contingency:

Evocation Level: Sor/Wiz 3, Brd 4 Components V,S,M,F Casting time: At least 5 minutes, see text. Range: Personal Target: You Duration: One day/level or until discharged.

A spell cast at the same time is automatically cast when the conditions of the lesser contingency are met. 5 minutes is the minimum casting time, but if the associated spell has a longer time to cast, that is used instead. The spell chosen must be one which only affects the caster, and be of first or second level.

This spell stacks with contingency, and is otherwise identical to it.

Material Component: That of the spell, and any item of little value which has been part of an enchantment.

Focus: A statuette of you carved from ivory, studded wth gems of at least 500 gold value. It must be carried for the lesser contingency to work.

Greater Contingency:

Evocation Level: Sor/Wiz 8 Components V,S,M,F Casting time: At least one hour, see text. Range: Personal Target: You Duration: One week/level or until discharged.

A spell cast at the same time is automatically cast when the conditions of the greater contingency are met. One hour is the minimum casting time, but if the associated spell has a longer time to cast, that is used instead. The spell chosen must be one which only affects the caster, and be of or below 8th level.

This spell stacks with contingency, and is otherwise identical to it.

Material Component: That of the spell, and any permanent magical item.

Focus: A statuette of you carved from ivory, studded wth gems of at least 5000 gold value. It must be carried for the greater contingency to work.

Chain Contingency:

Evocation Level: Sor/Wiz 9 Components V,S,M,F Casting time: At least one hour, see text. Range: Personal Target: You Duration: One day/level or until discharged.

Up to three spells cast at the same time are automatically cast when the conditions of the greater contingency are met. One hour is the minimum casting time, but if the associated spells combined have a longer time to cast, that is used instead. The spells chosen must be ones which only affect the caster, and be of or below 8th level.

This spell stacks with contingency, and is otherwise identical to it. The order in which the spells are cast must be determined when casting the chain contingency.

Material Component: That of the spells, and any permanent magical item of at least 2000 gold value.

Focus: A statuette of you carved from ivory, studded wth gems of at least 10000 gold value. It must be carried for the chain contingency to work.

Minor Sequencer:

Evocation Level: Sor/Wiz 4, Brd 6 Components V,S,M Casting time: At least ten minutes, see text. Range: Personal Target: You Duration: Permanent until discharged.

Up to two spells are cast at the same time when a pre-determined trigger is met. The nature of the trigger decided on casting may be verbal, somatic or otherwise, but must always be performed by the caster. Ten minutes is the minimum casting time, but if the associated spells combined have a longer time to cast, that is used instead. The spells chosen must be of or below 2nd level.

Upon the relevant trigger, both spells are simultaneously cast at the same target. If it is not a suitable target for either of the spells, the minor sequencer fails and is used up. If no target is specified, the most recent suitable target is used. The trigger causes the sequencer to activate, regardless of whether you want it to.

While this spell is active, the spells subject to the sequencer take up space in terms of spells per day as if they had been used at the point when new spells per day are granted. This does not include the minor sequencer itself. You can only have one minor sequencer active at any one time; if a second one is cast, the first one is harmlessly dissipated.

Material Component: That of the spells, and a part of the caster's body (hair, etc.).

Spell Sequencer:

Evocation Level: Sor/Wiz 7 Components V,S,M Casting time: At least ten minutes, see text. Range: Personal Target: You Duration: Permanent until discharged.

Up to three spells are cast at the same time when a pre-determined trigger is met.The spells chosen must be of or below 4th level. This spell is otherwise identical to minor sequencer, which it stacks with.

Material Component: That of the spells, and a part of the caster's body (hair, etc.).

Spell Trigger:

Evocation Level: Sor/Wiz 8 Components V,S,M Casting time: At least ten minutes, see text. Range: Personal Target: You Duration: Permanent until discharged.

Up to three spells are cast at the same time when a pre-determined trigger is met.The spells chosen must be of or below 6th level. This spell is otherwise identical to minor sequencer, which it stacks with.

Material Component: That of the spells, and a part of the caster's body (hair, etc.).
